TracFone has been a dominant player in the sub-tier customer category in the wireless arena. Their business was founded on delivering low cost wireless solutions for consumers, and marketing their offerings inside value based retail chains like Walmart, Price Club stores, etc, Over several decades, TracFone built a loyal customer base in the millions, positioning them as the “5th largest” wireless provider in the country

The strategic decision was made to launch their own chain of wireless stores that could compete directly with the likes of Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. To be successful, these stores needed to appeal to all classes of consumers and create an environment that rivaled the competitors stores.

Design Concept

The TracFone team engaged MINT to bring their vision to life. MINT’s design experts knew that this environment needed to use technology & a modern flair to achieve the final result.

Zones were created in each category, that were centered with digital touch screens, live products, and individualized LED lighting. Categorical signs and an entrance digital wayfinding screen helped to guide customers to the products and services they wanted, as well as a “smart bar” for consultative discussions and training classes. A large video wall, 3D ceiling halo architecture, Led track lighting and customized flooring “zones’ brought the high-end design together.
