Bath Sorbet Partners With MINT To Provide Luxury Customer Experience

Bath Sorbet creates colorful, custom bath bombs and other pampering products like salt soaks, oils, creams, and soaps. The husband/wife team behind the brand began their business about three years ago, inspired by a bath bomb party they threw for their daughter. Since then, they’ve launched a successful website and opened two locations in Oklahoma. 

Looking to expand and further franchise their business, Bath Sorbet turned to MINT to elevate their brand with a new store design and immersive experiential retail features.

Bringing MINT On Board

For their first location, the family-run business took a DIY approach, using their own design and ad hoc services from local carpenters and installers along with furniture they purchased themselves.

While this independent approach helped launch their business and establish a foothold in their hometown Oklahoma market, Bath Sorbet was beginning to look further afield to grow their brand, open more locations, and set the stage for franchise opportunities. In order to accomplish these goals, they needed a partner that could design a fully-realized brand for their stores that was both replicable and equipped with the right features to succeed in a competitive cosmetics industry. 

To make a dent in this crowded market, Bath Sorbet knew they would need to provide an exceptional and unique experience to set themselves apart and build an enthusiastic customer base. MINT’s focus on experiential retail technology promised a key solution to this, and the full-service retail installation MINT provided meant Bath Sorbet could stay focused on their growing business and turn over project planning, design, and execution to an expert partner with proven success in retail solutions.

The partnership kicked off in Spring 2022, with a goal to open a new Bath Sorbet location, equipped with modern technology solutions and a compelling design, by July 2022.

How MINT Helped Bath Sorbet Design A Unique Experience

Establishing brand identity and creating a replicable, compelling experience was MINT’s top priority for Bath Sorbet’s new store. The project began with a floor plan and 3D design renders to establish the look and feel of the space before MINT’s fabrication team brought it to life. The Bath Sorbet Aesthetic

The design features clean white lines that contrast with the bright colors of the products and catch the eye, creating a palette that mixes whimsical fun with spa-like relaxation and perfectly captures Bath Sorbet’s identity. Fixtures throughout the store run with this theme, including a candy shop-like display of self-serve bath salt dispensers, ready-to-go gift boxes, numerous displays filled with ready-made bath bombs, lotions, and gels for quick purchase, and a bubble bath display by the front entrance.

The Custom Bar

The heart of Bath Sorbet’s experience is the Custom Bar, an interactive space where customers can create their own personalized bath bombs. Visitors can select from a variety of different fragrances, ingredients, and dyes to design a unique bath bomb, then use the molds and raw ingredients available at the bar to assemble a fully customized product to bring home.

Less adventurous customers can also select pre-designed recipes rather than creating their own and still get the experience of assembling their own bath bombs. Having control over product creation also provides an accessible and fun experience to those with allergies and sensitivities to certain ingredients.

The Custom Bar provides countless opportunities for customers to return to the store and make new creations with friends and family, adding a deeply satisfying social element to Bath Sorbet’s offerings.

Endless Aisle Product Wizard

Endless aisle technology is a critical component of many experiential retail strategies and one of MINT’s most popular offerings. Offering this flexibility was a foundational element of MINT’s strategy for Bath Sorbet. Seven screens around the store allow customers to access a complete product catalog, combining the convenience of digital purchasing while still providing the chance to experience product quality in person. Out of stock items can easily be ordered for delivery, and customers can even begin designing their Custom Bar products at any one of these screens.

Photo Booth

The store entrance features a large 55’ screen next to the Custom Bar. Here, customers can capture and save photos of their experience, then share directly to their own social media account or even on Bath Sorbet’s official pages. The booth is a fun, convenient way for visitors to make the most of their time in-store and provides Bath Sorbet with crowd-sourced content to share online and boost their brand.

Digital Menu Screens

Large screens over the custom bar showcase available custom options for bath products as well as provide a dynamic space for Bath Sorbet to communicate with customers. The large screens are eye-catching and can display messaging, popular items, stocking and sales information—anything that Bath Sorbet might want to share with customers. These can provide endless possibilities for marketing content and improve the experience of both customer and business.

The Results

 

Bath Sorbet’s new location opened its doors in August 2022 to enormous success, experiencing an incredible turnout on its opening weekend and netting hundreds of customers that packed the 1,500 sq. ft. store.

Customers have continued to fill the store even after the grand opening, with many repeat visitors returning to try out new products and enjoy time together at the Custom Bar. The store’s interactive elements have been a huge success, and the Bath Sorbet team has been overwhelmed with positive feedback on the great customer experience they’re providing.

With the success of the new opening, Bath Sorbet now has a beautiful, modern space from which they can expand. The project came together on time, on budget, and has already significantly increased business. Best of all, MINT’s design is fully replicable, meaning Bath Sorbet can use it again and again as they open new locations that maintain a familiar brand identity and promise the same great quality customer experience.
